The CNIGA Seven Generations Scholarship program, in partnership with the California Nations Indian Gaming Association, provides financial assistance to eligible American Indian and Alaska Native undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees full-time at an accredited institution majoring in gaming, hospitality management, public policy/public administration, political science, law, or Indigenous studies.
The maximum amount of an award is $1,700 per academic year. This opportunity is a need-based award.
Students must meet the following requirements to be considered for this scholarship:
- Be an enrolled member or a descendant of a federally or state-recognized American Indian Tribe or Alaska Native group.
- Documentation from the Tribe is required through Native Forward Scholars Fund’s online tribal eligibility certification (TEC) form. Preference is given to students who are enrolled in a California-based tribe.
- Be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in gaming, hospitality management, public policy/public administration, political science, law, or Indigenous studies. Preference is given to students majoring in gaming, hospitality management, or public policy/public administration.
