The NextEra Energy Foundation (NEEF) scholarship, in partnership with NextEra Energy Foundation, Inc., provides financial assistance to eligible American Indian and Alaska Native undergraduate and graduate students enrolled full-time at an accredited institution and pursuing degrees with a focus in environment, energy, cultural sustainability, or a major in a STEM or STEM-related discipline. Native American students pursuing degrees that prepare them for the renewable energy workforce are encouraged to apply. Applicants must hold a current GPA of 3.0 or higher.
This program will award 15 scholarships in the amount of $5,000 per academic year. This opportunity is a need-based award.
Requirements:
Students must meet the following requirements to be considered for this scholarship:
- Be an enrolled member or a descendant of a federally or state-recognized American Indian Tribe or Alaska Native group. Documentation from the Tribe is required through Native Forward’s online tribal eligibility certification (TEC) form.
- Be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.
- Be pursuing a degree with a focus in environment, energy, cultural sustainability, or a major in a STEM or STEM-related discipline.
- Possess an unweighted cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
