Bio

Charlie White Eagle was born and raised in the Oglala Sioux Tribe, but is enrolled in the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. She has received a B.A. in Lakota Studies with an emphasis in Indian Law from Oglala Lakota College in the spring of 2021. She also received two Associate of Arts degrees in Tribal Law and Lakota Studies. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Legal Studies-Indigenous Peoples Law program at University of Oklahoma College of Law. She felt it was a great continuation of her educational studies. She hopes to learn and gain a better understanding of Indian Law once she finishes the program. Charlie’s goal is to work in law to represent Native American people. Her next education goal is a Juris Doctorate, so she can practice once she has better insight.

American Indian Graduate Center has empowered me to become a better student. Being awarded a scholarship means all my hard work has paid off. From the numerous assignments, several-page essays, late nights, long days with work/school/family, over studying, it did not go unnoticed. Becoming an AIGC scholar means a lot to me. It is a big accomplishment that I will cherish forever.
