Native Forward All Native American High School Academic Team (ANAHSAT) honors 10 American Indian and Alaska Native high school students. The key element, to be given most weight by the judges, will be a student’s outstanding original academic, artistic or leadership endeavor. The judges will be influenced by the student’s ability to describe that outstanding endeavor in their own words where teachers or community members nominate applicants. Criteria for the team were developed in consultation with Native Forward’s staff, board, and organizational goals.
Students will be honored in their local press and in The American Indian Graduate, Native Forward’s biannual magazine. Additionally, Native Forward will present students with a certificate of honor.
The All Native American High School Academic Team program was created by Native Forward and is maintained with private funds.
